Summary: While on a field trip to Tokyo Tower, three teenage girls cross a magical portal and are transported to another world called Cefiro. There they are summoned through the last remaining strength of the Princess Emeraude, who believes the trio will become the magic knights who will save her, as prophesied by legend.
Chapter 1: Pretty illustrations! Oh, is there a Mokona in this world too?
The girl on the cover and two other girls get sucked into the ground and fall into another world. Lol I like the glasses-wearing girl's reactions to things.
Emeraude is the girl who summoned them. There's a guy in black watching.
Fuu: Short-haired girl with glasses, Sagittarius
Umi: Long-haired girl with headband, Pisces
Hikaru: Ditzy and straightforward, good with animals
Everyone picking on Hikaru for having a baby face. 😭
A tiny young looking old guy showed up, he summoned the fish that saved them, Fyula.
This world is called Cefiro.
The guy in black is called Lord Zagato. He's the bad guy it seems. If the girls suceed, they'll revive this 'Mashin'.
The 'boy's' name is Guru Clef.
Alcyone is tasked with taking down the girls.
Chapter 2: Emeraude was imprisoned by Zagato and Cefiro fell into chaos and war.
Clif gives them armor and each of them a magic specialization, easy to guess what they are.
Alcyone was Clif's apprentice.
With Hikaru's newly learnt fire magic, Alcyone is at least temporarily set back. Now they have to find Presea at the Forest of Silence to get weapons.
It's funny that Umi has a a bit of a temper even though she's water.
Chapter 3: After a kerfuffle with Mokona, they meet Presea, chief artisan of Cefiro. They need to get 'escudo' for her to make their weapons but it's in a dangerous place.
The three vow to protect each other as sisters.
We get some extra bits at the end of the volume. Hikaru wants to be a seeing-eye dog trainer, that's lovely. Umi doesn't like sweets but she likes baking cakes? She wants to be a bride?! Fuu is a Sagittarius like me! She's similar to be in ways.
I like the pointed "it's possible it doesn't think about anything" dig or Mokona.
I'm enjoying this manga so far, the over the top humor is definitely very Clamp and the girl's relationship is sweet. And fantasy is always great.
